$2.4M Verdict: New Jersey Justices Restore Award in Factory Worker’s Mesothelioma Death

The New Jersey Supreme Court has reinstated a $2.38 million verdict that was awarded to the family of a factory worker who died of mesothelioma after exposure to asbestos sold by Union Carbide Corp.

By a 3-1 margin, the court rejected a theory that an asbestos manufacturer could rely on employers to notify their workers about the dangers of handling asbestos.
