XPO to lay off 304 workers at AllianceTexas distribution center

XPO Logistics Inc. will lay off 304 workers at an AllianceTexas distribution center in April, according to a notice filed with the Texas Workforce Commission.

An XPO customer is taking over the distribution center operations and is interviewing displaced workers for jobs with it, said a letter from Richard Valitutto, XPO’s senior vice president and general counsel. The letter didn’t identify the customer.

Workers who aren’t retained could be offered positions at other XPO operations in the Fort Worth area, Valitutto’s letter said.

The distribution center is at 3300 Eagle Parkway.

In January, XPO said it’s considering strategic options including the possible sale or spinoff of one or more business units. The Greenwich, Connecticut-based transportation conglomerate operates 26 supply chain, last-mile locations and terminals in Dallas-Fort Worth.
