WorldCargo News – News – eRTGs arrive in Miami

The Kalmar RTGs were ordered in early 2019 and arrived onboard an AAL heavy lift vessel. They are the first RTG cranes at the Port of Miami.

SFCT is a joint venture between APM Terminals (49%) and Terminal Link (51%). China Merchants Holdings (International) Company Limited (CMHI) has a 49% stake in Terminal Link.

The new RTGs will be powered off a busbar energy system, and will be equipped with operator assist features like auto steering and container stack profiling.

The cranes have been purchased by SFCT, while the Port of Miami is spending US$34M on runways and electrical infrastructure to install the equipment.
