World Sustainable Procurement Day — Is today

Today, spring equinox 2022, is the first ever World Sustainable Procurement Day — presented by the Sustainable Procurement Pledge (SPP) — 24 hours of many different online sessions focusing on empowering and equipping procurement practitioners with knowledge, best practice approaches and practical solutions to sustainability challenges that our profession needs to tackle.

Sessions include: How responsible procurement can protect supply chain workers from modern slavery and labor exploitation; Sustainable packaging, the need for strategy and the pivotal role of procurement; What tools can procurement use now for addressing climate change with suppliers, and many more.

Spend Matters has produced a lot of material, research, analysis and advice on sustainable procurement, and our analyst Nick Heinzmann will provide an update in our upcoming newsletter on what we’ve been doing around the subject since the launch of our ESG series — sign up here.
