Workers killed in Morocco garment factory

Heavy rainfall caused the factory, located in an underground garage in a residential area, to flood. Workers drowned or were electrocuted by a short circuit, Morocco World News reports.

The accident took place earlier this month, in a factory that employs 130 workers, mostly women. The illegal factory is said to have been operating for 20 years.

Labour groups including US based Solidarity Centre, are campaigning for an investigation into the tragedy.
