LYNDHURST, Ohio — Overdose: Cedar Road
At 9:10 p.m. April 7, police were called to the Cheesecake Factory restaurant, 24265 Cedar Road at Legacy Village, on a report that a woman in the restroom had overdosed. A needle was found in the stall where the woman was found. She was fading in and out of consciousness.
Police administered three doses of Narcan before taking her to Hillcrest Hospital. The woman, 27, of Avon, survived.
A man had been in the restaurant with the woman, but he left as police arrived, running into the wooded area behind the business. Police were unable to locate the man.
OVI: Richmond Road
At 3 a.m. April 10, a 911 caller reported that a woman was in a stopped car at Richmond and Anderson roads. The woman, who was alone in the car, was yelling that she was “stuck,” although her vehicle may have been out of gas.
Officers checked on the woman, 28, of Mayfield Heights, and found that she was intoxicated. The woman failed field sobriety tests, but refused to take a breath test. Police arrested the woman and charged her with OVI.
Sexual assault: Ashwood Drive
At 3:20 p.m. April 8, a representative of county Children and Family Services went to the police station to report that a Lyndhurst girl, 16, was the victim of a sexual assault by a Lyndhurst boy, 13, while at a residence in the city. The matter is under investigation. Charges have not been filed.
Fraud: Anderson Road
At 11:50 a.m. April 8, a Lyndhurst woman, 70, reported that an unknown person filed a tax return with the IRS using her identity.
Assist person: Mayfield Road
At 10:15 a.m. April 8, a staff member at the AAA East Central office, 5356 Mayfield Road, reported that a Lyndhurst man, 46, made a threatening phone call to the office’s staff. The matter is under investigation.
Warrant arrest: Mayfield Road
At 10:50 p.m. April 7, a woman and her son, 47, of Cleveland, went to the Lyndhurst police station to report that the woman had been involved in an altercation at her home with another son. Because the matter occurred in Cleveland, the woman was told to contact Cleveland police.
The car the woman drove was in the Lyndhurst police station lot with a flat tire. It was also leaking fluid. As she drove to the police station, another motorist had called police to report that sparks were flying as the woman drover her car on a rim. Two flatbed trucks were required to tow the unsafe vehicle from the lot.
While the two were at the station, police learned that the son who accompanied the woman was wanted on a Mayfield Heights police warrant for a traffic offense. MHPD officers picked up the man from the Lyndhurst station.
Warrant arrest: Mayfield Road
At 10:30 p.m. April 5, an officer stopped a car because it displayed an expired license plate. It was then learned that the driver, a Euclid man, 27, was wanted on a Euclid police warrant on a felony theft charge. The man was arrested and turned over to Euclid police.
OVI: Richmond Road
At 12:55 a.m. April 5, an officer conducted a traffic stop of a car that remained in a stationary position at a green light. It was discovered that the driver, a Lyndhurst man, 33, was intoxicated. The man refused to take a breath test.
Police arrested the man on a charge of OVI.
Overdose: Oakland Drive
At 12:50 a.m. April 4, a caller to 911 stated that her daughter, 24, took drugs and was screaming while walking around the house. It was believed that the daughter had taken heroin, as she had done so often in the past.
EMS took the woman to Hillcrest Hospital. It was found that the woman was wanted on two Lyndhurst police warrants.
Overdose: Churchill Road
At 1:45 a.m. April 4, a 911 caller requested a medical squad for her granddaughter, 13, who took a half bottle of Levothyroxine pills, about 30 in all. EMS took the girl to Hillcrest Hospital.
