Woman found dead in Azizabad identified as factory worker – Newspaper

KARACHI: A woman who was found bludgeoned to death in Azizabad on Thursday was identified as a factory worker who had been missing since last two weeks, officials said on Friday.

The woman’s body with brutal torture marks on her head and face was recovered from the Sharifabad railway crossing.

She was identified as Perveen Hidayatullah, 30, with help of CPLC identity project through Nadra’s fingerprints data, according to a CPLC spokesperson.

She was a resident of Liaquatabad, and was said to be missing since Dec 21.

She had left her home saying that she was going to work, but she did not return.

Azizabad SHO Haji Sanaullah said that the unmarried woman worked at a factory in the SITE area.

The officer said that the motive for her murder could not be ascertained immediately.

Two ‘drug peddlers’ held

A police party headed by SHO SITE-A arrested two suspected drug peddlers and recovered 10kg cannabis from their possession besides arresting a motorcycle thief in another raid and recovered a stolen motorcycle from him, adds PPI.

The police in a raid arrested two drug suppliers identified as Abdullah and Hamdullah, stated to be Afghan nationals.

They were supplying drugs to Sohrab Goth from Quetta.

Further investigation against the suspects in the case was under way, the police added.

In another raid, the SITE police arrested Saleem and claimed to have seized a stolen motorcycle from his possession. Further investigation was under way, the police added.
