Who says no? Evaluating your Ducks trade proposals for Hampus Lindholm, Rickard Rakell, John Gibson and more – The Athletic

The NHL trade deadline is next Monday. The Ducks have yet to make their big move, even if there is anticipation that at least one is coming. But the thought of them being a real player in deadline activity had readers with their general manager hats on cooking up deals.

Let’s face it. Fans love this time of year. Trades matter. The possibility of trades matters. Any real trade instantly gets people talking. That’s what happens in a league in which it’s become rare when players are dealt in-season before the spring thaw. (Yes, I do understand that this doesn’t apply to the western and southern parts of North America.)

The Athletic put out the call to readers as to what Anaheim should do, and you got after it. Frankly, we had to draw a line with breaking your proposed deals down. Andres B. wanted all the picks in the first round, having made four separate deals. Don T. had a trade tree going from Nic Deslauriers to Jakob Chychrun, with Josh Manson and Rickard Rakell involved. David M. had seven deals with Ryan Kesler somehow included in one of them. Zach N. and Christian W. pretty much took a detonator to half the team.

Here is one thing that gets forgotten at this time of the season.
