“We want the customer to be able to concentrate on what they do best and let us do the rest”

Global freight forwarder and logistics organisation Mentfield UK Ltd; today announced that they have finalised a partnership agreement with the innovative logistics company ICL Ltd. As a result of this partnership; Mentfield UK Ltd will adopt the ICL name and going forward trade as ICL UK. This newly created partnership will be headquartered in London; and operate out of offices and warehouses in England and Scotland.

Mentfield UK Ltd has 18 international offices with an affiliate network in over 100 countries; it operates in a diverse range of industry sectors with an exceptionally strong presence in the perishable sector. Leveraging off a combination of own offices (in the US and Europe), and a large agent network; ICL Ltd provide a comprehensive suite of Logistics services based on advanced logistics technology, firm financial efficiency and total global coverage.

“A customer centric culture is common between the two companies; we see this merger as an opportunity to offer a wider range of services to our customers,” said Yoav Izhari, CEO of Mentfield UK. “With an emphasis on utilising cutting-edge technology; ICL Ltd are highly experienced in creating and implementing supply chain solutions. A key objective of the partnership, is to combine these competences with our own; so as to further enhance our abilities in specialised warehousing, fulfilment and ecommerce services.”

While the entities have been in discussions for some time; the finalisation of this partnership coincides with the introduction of new Brexit regulations which came into effect on the 1st of January this year. These new regulations have certainly created an opportunity for ICL UK to further demonstrate its proficiency in the perishable sector; Yoav Izhari commented “We can assist our customers in getting goods cleared faster with our highly skilled specialist staff and facilities at the ports of Heathrow and in Spalding.”

Understandably proud; Yoav remarked “With this partnership, the company will have a much wider reach and we can offer a more diverse product offering in more locations. Mentfield UK had been rapidly scaling up in the last couple of years; with Brexit adding extra impetus to our growth. It was a perfect time to finalise our partnership with ICL.”

The greater logistics industry and its users still face numerous challenges relating to the efficiency of processes with regulatory authorities. ICL are investing substantial amounts of time and money into developing a technology platform, aimed at making the customs clearance process a much smoother experience for the customer.

“We want the customer to be able to concentrate on what they do best and let us do the rest.”
