The Brewery & Supply Chain Associate is primarily accountable for the timely ordering, receiving, and inventorying of raw & packaging materials and the accurate demand planning thereof. Accountable for developing and maintaining key centralized brewing processes while adhering to lean manufacturing methodologies under the leadership of the VP of Brewing Operations. Manages miscellaneous related administrative duties including compliance & regulatory, permitting, and vendor contract management.

Reporting Structure: This position reports to the VP of Accounting and Finance with a dotted line to the VP of Brewing Operations. Collaborates with Lead Brewer, Packaging Manager, and VP of Business Development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works closely with VP of Accounting and Finance and VP of Brewing Operations to develop meaningful insights into business performance
  • Maintains and develops internal and external financial reporting for internal and executive reporting.
  • Complies with federal and state labeling requirements and filings through Saas programs
  • Analyzes historical brewery data with projected financial and operational information for analytical insights
  • Works directly with the leadership team to build annual budgets and quarterly demand forecasts and monthly progress towards planning cycles
  • Prepares package need models to forecast purchasing needs
  • Develops contractual relationships with vendors based on demand planning
  • Communicates results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining of operations.
  • Reviews existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvements efforts for Finance team
  • Maintains department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and audits processes to develop/implement new SOPs.
  • Leads cross functionally by driving organizational change, cultivating relationships, putting staff in a position to succeed, building effective matrixed teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals, driving engagement and creating a climate where the staff is motivated to do their best.
  • Ability to lead without authority. Consults and advises the Brewery Leadership team in the lean methodologies. Develops and implements a lean strategy for the site based on losses.
  • Responsible for properly balancing the need for good business processes and skills with systems and tools. Also, responsible to be an unbiased leader in representing and supporting the needs of all team members: Business, IT, full time employees, temporary employees, contractors, or consultants.
  • Works collaboratively across the matrixed organization and implementation partners
  • Responsible for structuring and managing proper implementation timelines, resourcing plans, and costing
  • Develop and maintain tools, systems, procedures for lean programs, with an emphasis on problem solving, continuous improvement, and value stream mapping.
  • Partners with our Finance Business Partners to ensure manufacturing performance is clearly tied to financial performance.
  • Train and coach all levels and function in lean principles and their application
  • Monitor brewery performance and analyze data to identify focused opportunities for reducing costs and improving productivity, utilization, and quality.
  • Is in-tune and deeply considers the culture of the site when developing plans. Optimizes employee engagement in all lean programs.
  • Identify and deliver quality improvements as part of the continuing assessment process.
  • Ability to apply lean practices to speed material flow, drive out waste and reduce inventory.
  • Identity techniques to document, analyze and improve the flow of information or materials required as part of the production process.
  • Leverage relationships with front line workers to achieve and sustain lean initiatives.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

  • •Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • •Minimum of 5+ years of experience in supply chain management and/or financial analysis
  • •Prior experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX (or comparable ERP software) is a plus
  • •Prior experience with Budget and Planning software (Vena or comparable equivalent) and enterprise level financial modeling

The employee frequently is required to be on feet, standing or walking/moving briskly, for several hours at a time. The employee is required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and lift kegs (with help) stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to work hours that exceed 10 PM. The employee must occasionally lift or move a minimum of 20 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
