Two people rescued from M&M Mars factory chocolate tank

Two people were rescued after falling into a vat full of chocolate at the Mars M&M factory in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania on Thursday, officials said.

Both people were taken to the hospital, with one being transported by helicopter and the other transported by ground, according to CNN.

It is unknown how extensive their injuries are at this point and time.

Both people were employees at the chocolate factory, although it is unclear how they fell into the chocolate tank.

The pair fell waist-deep into the chocolate vat at around 2 p.m., according to Penn Live.

A Mars spokesperson confirmed that rescue efforts to get the employees out of the tank have been successful.

“We can confirm both people have been taken offsite for further evaluation. We’re extremely grateful for the quick work of first responders,” according to a statement provided to The New York Post.
