An Irish transport and logistics software company has been acquired by transport management software provider Mandata, which is backed by Tenzing.
Newcastle-based Mandata has swooped for Eureka Information Systems, which was founded ten years ago by Eddie Doyle and Damien Power.
The Rosslare-based company has more than 200 customers who rely on Eureka’s integrated systems to run every aspect of their transport operations, saving businesses time and money and increasing productivity.
Mandata has more than 2,000 customers which use its suite of transport management and related software products.
Its services help hauliers manage their day-to-day operations more effectively while reducing their carbon footprint and improving the real-time visibility of their operations.
Guy Gillon, co-founder and managing partner of Tenzing, said: “Eureka is Mandata’s first Tenzing-backed acquisition and the first European acquisition as part of our investment journey with Mandata.
“It supports our joint ambition to expand Mandata’s footprint and establish itself as the leading provider of transport management solutions across the UK and Europe.”
Chris Rigg, chief executive of Mandata, added: “The acquisition of Eureka is a step towards achieving our goal of becoming the go-to provider of best-of-breed transport management software in the UK and Europe. Built up over the past decade to be one of Ireland’s foremost providers of transport management systems, Eureka’s product offering supports Mandata’s mission to help road transport operators succeed in all market conditions.”
Eddie Doyle, co-founder of Eureka Information Systems, said: “Damien and I are delighted that Eureka Information Systems is now part of the Mandata Group, which will further enhance the services we provide to our existing customers. The company will continue to operate from Rosslare, and all customer contact points with the Eureka team will remain.”
Tenzing invested in Mandata in October 2021. This is the eighth acquisition Tenzing has supported its portfolio companies with in the last 12 months.
