The Day – New London man faces firearms, drug factory charges


New London — Police have charged a New London man with operating a drug factory at the Clarion Inn, at 269 N. Frontage Road, after executing a search and seizure warrant Tuesday morning.

Police also charged Duwayne Todd, 33, with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and altering identifying marks on a firearm.

As the result of an ongoing investigation into illegal narcotic activity in the city, the New London Police Department Vice and Intelligence Unit and members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force-East executed the warrant around 11:03 a.m. Tuesday, police said in a news release Thursday.

Police said they seized two loaded handguns, crack cocaine, powder cocaine and $3,252 in cash.
