Textile Factory Turned Office Launches Leasing

Developer Elijah Equities has launched leasing at The Warehouse, a seven-story, 98,000-square-foot office building at 520 W. 20th St. in Chelsea, near the High Line. An NKF team of David Falk, Eric Cagner and Alex Leopold is marketing space at the adaptive reuse property, formerly a textile factory for Carolina Manufacturing Company, owned by the Haddad family.

“The Warehouse has been owned by my family for over 40 years and the building’s history and design variations are a standing monument to the evolution of the surrounding neighborhood over that period of time,” said James Haddad, principal of Elijah. “It was important to me to preserve the original structure, have it flourish and appreciated by upcoming generations, but also to shepherd it into the modern era with a new aesthetically handsome addition.”

Cagner said, “With flexible, forward-thinking design, the building can support either a multi-tenant experience or a single building occupant.”
