On November 20, 2020, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) issued a request for public comment regarding a proposed Best Value Criteria for the state’s upcoming STAR health managed care procurement (most people who have Medicaid coverage in Texas get their coverage through the STAR managed care program). HHSC will use the Best Value Criteria to evaluate and select the successful bidder. Implementation is scheduled to begin September 1, 2021.
