Test Kit Distribution Friday, Monday: Residents Must Register

GUILFORD, CT — First Selectman Matt Hoey made it clear that the distribution of at-home rapid COVID-19 test kits is “contingent upon receipt from the state,” and, that people must pre-register in order to get the kits.

Thursday at noon, a link to the online registration form to receive a kit will go live on the town’s website, www.ci.guilford.ct.us. A valid e-mail address is required in order to register. Registration is open only to Guilford residents 18 and older. Successful registrants will receive an email confirmation with a QR Code.

The drive-through distribution is set for Friday and Monday, Jan. 3, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Guilford Fairgrounds on Lovers Lane. Test kits will be limited to two per registrant.

Drivers are reminded that traffic patterns in the vicinity of the fairgrounds will be altered and will mimic the patterns that are in place during the Guilford Fair. This is to facilitate as smooth a distribution process as possible.

Folks must have the email confirmation/QR Code, and a valid government issued ID for proof of residency, “or you will be turned away.”

“Do not come to the Fairgrounds if you have not pre-registered,” a message to the community reads.

Guilford residents 65 years or older that cannot navigate a computerized registration form and/or do not have transportation, should call the Guilford Senior Center at 203-453-8086. Please note that there is a limited amount of testing kits available and residents in this category must qualify for assistance. Calls will only be taken from until 4:30pm today and Thursday from 8:30 am to noon.
