Teletalk website reportedly hacked by Russians

Teletalk, the lone state-owned mobile telecom operator’s website was reportedly hacked today. Several readers of The Daily Star and social media users shared screenshots of the defaced Teletalk website (www.teletalk.com.bd) with us. Screenshots also show that the first scroll of the website saying ”Hacked by Russian Hackers”

While filing this report, the website has been taken down with a notice saying “We’re currently down for maintenance, check back soon!”.

No Teletalk officials could be reached for comments on the matter.

This is not the first time the state-owned mobile operator has been reportedly hacked. In 2016 there were claims of a hack of Teletalk’s server though no confounded proof was found later.

With a current subscriber base of 6.27 Million, Teletalk started its operation back in 2004.
