CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief secretary K Shanmugam on Friday convened a meeting of nine special committees headed by senior bureaucrats to ensure uninterrupted supply of all essential commodities during the 21-day lockdown period.
A committee will oversee overall coordination at the state level and with Centre/other states and the master control room, while another will monitor state-level coordination for essential manufacturing within Tamil Nadu and other states.
The third committee will ensure essential supplies at state and district level while the fourth is for media coordination and awareness.
Another panel will coordinate with private hospitals, while sixth one has been formed to oversee transportation.
A committee has been set up exclusively for contact tracing, quarantine, isolation of suspected coronavirus patients and material management while another will oversee disinfection and health infrastructure.
The ninth committee will take care of relief coordination involving non-government organisations, voluntary groups and CSR funding.
