Detectives from the NSW Drug and Firearms Squad arrested the men over the stash on Wednesday.

They were all refused bail to appear at court later on Thursday.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb spoke about the arrest and last month’s raid on Thursday during a press conference, where she was joined by senior officers from State Crime Command and Australian Border Force.

‘Police will be alleging the men formed part of a criminal syndicate that was well-equipped and highly sophisticated,’ she said.

‘We suspect the impact of this seizure will be felt throughout Sydney and New South Wales in the coming months.’

The commissioner revealed that the drugs were ‘concealed in marble stone’ when they were discovered inside the containers.

‘Yesterday was about stopping the revenue stream for these groups and further harming and dismantling their membership,’ she added.
