Swissport seeks to improve procurement procedures

Swissport has teamed up with cognitive procurement software pioneer Zycus in a bid to improve efficiency, compliance and consistency in its procurement programme.

The global airport ground services and air cargo handling company has signed a multi-year contract with Zycus to deliver a scalable Source to Pay (S2P) technology solution.

S2P is an end-to-end sourcing and procurement process that includes strategic sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, performance management, spend management and accounts payable.

Zycus says its solution will improve complete S2P cycle time, enabling solutions that offer governance through better workflows and non-purchase order invoice processing that will ultimately improve efficiency, compliance, and consistency overall.

Its AI-powered A/P processing technology will enable all suppliers to invoice digitally and deliver a truly ‘touch-less’ experience. Furthermore, the eProc solution will improve efficiency and effectiveness across catalogue, requisition, and purchase order management functions. Swissport also added Zycus’ iRisk to ensure improved supplier collaboration and performance.

In 2021, Swissport handled 5.1m tons of airfreight (2019: 4.6m) at over 100 cargo centres worldwide. The company recently opened a new 8,000 sq m facility near Vienna Airport.
