The COO of Supply Chain Solutions is now its president.

Kentwood-based Supply Chain Solutions said Tuesday, Nov. 30, it appointed Dave Whittaker, the company’s former COO, as its next president, effective in November. He succeeds Jim Ward, who will take on the role of executive chair of the board.

The company described Whittaker as “an energetic supply chain and global business leader who contributes a wealth of leadership experience and passion for positive change.”

“Dave has shown the ability to lead our teams, to look for a better way and achieve greater results for our SCS customers,” Ward said.

The new appointment reflects the company’s growth trajectory as SCS poises itself for further expansion after a good year.

Whittaker brings decades of supply chain leadership experience to his new position. He has held leadership roles with multinational manufacturing, consulting and third-party logistics organizations.

“I could not be more grateful to accept the position (of) president for this well-established and respected organization, comprised of an extremely talented team,” Whittaker said. “My goal in leading this company is to build upon the accomplishments of the past 20 years.”
