ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Players for the Rams and the Bengals aren’t the only ones warming up for Sunday’s big game. Bar manager at Allsports Café Jordyn Patterson says she’s ordered more than 16,000 wings and they sell out fast.
Patterson says on a typical Sunday for the NFL’s biggest game of the year, they sell 500 wings about every 30 minutes.
She says the chicken wing shortage is over, but the assistant manager at Buffalo Wild Wings, Thomas Ward, says they’re still feeling the impact of other supply chain issues.
“There are certain plastic products we just can’t order, certain appetizer favorites we just can’t get,” says Ward. “I know cheese curds, we’ve been able to order two cases in the last two months and we’re used to ordering like eight cases a week.”
Ward says the restaurant will probably hit maximum capacity on Sunday, but he and Patterson both say it’s carry-out orders that bring in big business. Ward adds that it’s the busiest day of the year for the restaurant, and they’ve already started prepping some things. But that doesn’t include the wings – which will be made fresh.
