Supply chain issues impacting lunches at Bedford County Public Schools

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Lunchtime may look a little different nowadays — at least compared to the school menu. Supply chain issues are beginning to affect what’s being offered at schools more and more.

According to Bedford County Public Schools (BCPS), the School Nutrition Program is experiencing a larger volume of product shortages and substitutions from food and supply vendors.

BCPS said in a post on Facebook that they strive to offer food items listed on school menus, but the food shortages and substitutions are making it challenging to do so. The school district asks for patience and understanding while they continue to work the matter.
