MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Supply chain issues across the country could put a damper on the holiday season.
Prices are increasing for just about everything!
According to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics, turkey prices are up 13 percent from two years ago.
On Friday, Cordelia’s Market in Harbor Town was filled with customers beating the Thanksgiving rush.
Many of them are concerned about supply chain issues.
These issues are causing the prices of beef, pork, and turkey to increase more than 10 percent, according to the U.S Bureau of Statistics.
“It’s been a little frustrating trying to find items and go to two or three stores to get them,” said customer Priscilla Duleney.

Duleney will travel to visit her family in Alabama for Thanksgiving.
Luckily, she bought her turkey ahead of time. Now, she’s focusing on the fun stuff.
“I’ll do all the normal things like sweet potato casserole, broccoli, and rice. A lot of casseroles!” said Duleney.
Meanwhile, managers at grocery stores like Cordelia’s Market are making sure customers like Priscilla are satisfied.
Manager Andrew Simpson has been ordering inventory a week in advance while working with suppliers in and out of state.
“We bought a week out or early to ensure we are getting those Thanksgiving holiday items the customers are wanting,” said Simpson.
This is one of the busiest times of the year for grocery stores and customers, but customers believe it’s all worth it.
“Spending time with my daughter and family, that’s what it’s all about,” said Duleney.
