CHICO, Calif. – Several Chico candy and flower shops are seeing the effects of supply chain issues with their Easter supply this year.
Despite the supply chain issues, Sweet Chico and Flowers by Rachelle are still seeing an increase in sales.
Neal says their customers have been working with them to change their orders when needed to avoid too many issues.
Robin Klitzke, the owner of Sweet Chico, says they even put their Easter orders in early to try and combat these issues.
“Yeah, the supply chain is definitely continuing to be an issue for us. We ordered Easter back in January and we obviously didn’t receive everything that we ordered. We just have to compensate by placing larger orders knowing that it won’t be 100% fulfilled and just do the best that we can,” Klitzke said.
Klitzke has already put their Christmas orders in too, to try and minimize the impact the supply chain delay can have on her business.
Both businesses have been seeing more people coming in and more orders ahead of Easter.
“Yeah, we’ve seen a lot of increased traffic with Easter coming up. We’ve had to re-order and restock as much as we can, so I think people are going big this Easter,” Klitzke said.
The increase in business during Easter has been a common occurrence the past couple of years for Flowers by Rachelle.
“I think one of the great things that’s come out of COVID, is that we’ve really started focusing on the family and that Easter has become more important of a holiday again, which has been great. We’ve done more Easter sales since then, so in the past this will actually be the third Easter, where we’ve seen an uptick in sales and people putting more focus on the family and togetherness. It’s been awesome,” Neal said.
Both Sweet Chico and Flowers by Rachelle still have Easter supplies available.
Sweet Chico will host an egg dyeing event Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. It is free for everyone.
