Our Global Engineering teams are a project management team who are accountable for sizeable Capex projects.

You’ll work at the heart of an enormous global manufacturing operation where you will get the chance to work on industry leading technology and, of course, help us shape the future! As an Engineer in our talented team you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective maintenance and repair, problem solving and improvement of assets and their availability across sites.

Capital Expenditure (CapEx) are funds used by the business to acquire, upgrade and maintain physical assets such as property, plants, buildings, technology or equipment.

This investment helps to Increase capacity to meet supply in the market, maintain current output – equipment and technology, ensure building and assets have high standards of health and safety compliance and reduce environmental impact on water usage and net carbon emissions.

In the Technical team you’ll work with experts in brand change, science and technology, safety, quality, environmental sustainability, and governance to ensure we innovate and grow while protecting our people, brands, and the environment.

As part of the manufacturing team you’ll be responsible for ensuring our products are made to the highest standards and in the most efficient way.

Our manufacturing team rest across all 5 of our premium categories (Scotch, Beer, Baileys, European Spirits and Tequila) as part of this dedicated team you’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient and sustainable way of how our products are created and packaged to the highest standards for each of our customers.

Our manufacturing sites work together across land, sea, countries and continents in the UK and Ireland, Italy and Mexico producing world renowned brands from each of our categories.

Scotland is the home of Diageo’s diverse range of Scotch whiskies. In Scotland, Distilling is responsible for producing over 30 million cases of Diageo’s Scotch whiskies such as Johnnie Walker, J&B and Bell’s every year.

As well as Scotch, Distilling produces 14 million cases of white spirits including Smirnoff vodka, Tanqueray gin and Gordon’s gin and over three million cases of other spirits and ready to drink brands.

Across Scotland there are 28 Scotch whisky malt distilleries throughout the Highlands, Speyside, Islay and Lowlands and one grain Scotch whisky distillery.  There are ten main warehousing sites, housing our maturing stocks of Scotch whisky, supported by a state of the art cooperage and coppersmiths.

The world’s supply of Baileys comes from two production sites; Dublin and Belfast. Over 6.7 million cases of Baileys Original and Baileys Flavours leave the gates of these two ISC sites every year, destined for over 130 countries worldwide.

Our packaging site in Leven is the largest spirits bottling operation in Europe. Leven, alongside Shieldhall, package a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world.

Our brewing operations are based at Runcorn and Guinness Dublin and this volume is shipped around the world. 

Santa Vittoria in Italy is a high speed facility with 10 bottling lines producing 15 million cases a year and employs over 430 people. Santa Vittoria has a fascinating history which dates back to the mid 1700’s when King Carlo Alberto of Savoia’s hunting lodge was the place where the first experiments for the production of sparkling wines in Italy took place, emulating French champagne. 

Our packaging operation in Mexico includes the world famous Don Julio and Casamigos Tequilas.

Our Planning, Customer Service and Logistics (PCSL) functions, employ c1,000 people across 20+ countries, and our teams focus on capability planning, customer excellence and logistics specialists, ensure that our brands get to where they need to be in the most efficient and effective way.

Our PCSL function drives agility into our end-to-end global supply chain, be providing ‘best in class’ service and delivery to our customers, our channels and our markets, with an aim to ‘Delight the Customer’, every case, every day, everywhere.

Using data-driven insight and state-of-the-art digital technology, our products are delivered from ‘grain-to-shelf’, ensuring we Delight the Customer every day, across the globe.

Our Global Sustainability Team work to strategize, problem solve and innovate towards achieving our Society 2030 grain-to-glass sustainability targets.

That means working with and connecting our whole value chain – the people, resources and environment that contribute to our success, from grain to glass by:

  • Working towards a low-carbon future, harnessing 100% renewable energy to achieve net zero carbon emissions across direct operations and working with suppliers to reduce indirect carbon emissions by 50%; and
  • Ensuring that every drink we produce will take 30% less water to make than it does today and will achieve a net positive water impact in our key water stressed basins and communities; and
  • Ensuring that we use 100% recycled content in plastic packaging and that 100% of Diageo’s packaging will be widely recyclable.

The Strategy & Transformation team works across all functions and categories within Supply Chain & Procurement.  Partnering closely across our business, the team owns the development of the functional strategy, performance management structures, transformation setup and governance, global sourcing analysis/ strategy, supply data & analytics programme as well as supporting critical change programmes with expert programme management and communications capabilities.
