Stocks fall for profit booking

The Dhaka stocks dropped in the first session of today’s trading as investors went for booking profits.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), fell 9 points, or 0.14 per cent, to 6,872 until 12.30 pm.

At the DSE, 159 stocks advanced, 163 declined and 56 remained the same.

The market rose in the last three consecutive days by more than 150 points, so some investors are taking profits now, according to market analysts.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange also fell today.

The CASPI, the main index of the CSE, edged down by 53 points, or 0.26 per cent, to 20,103.

Among traded 225 stocks, 95 rose, 99 fell and 31 remained unchanged.
