WORCESTER — The sale of the property where a former Southbridge Street factory stands was finalized in June with plans to turn the building into apartment space.
The 300 Southbridge St. property was sold for $595,000 to 8-10 Upland Road LLC, a company listed as being managed by Brad Cangiamila and Fernando Dalfior of Dalfior Development Inc., a Somerville-based developer.
The sale was made June 28 and recorded July 22.
The sellers were listed as the trusts for Mantyla Benjamin and Saul Talbert.

The building was once a factory for Sargent Card Clothing Co. built in the 1860s. In recent years, it has served as a space for several grassroots youth-focused community groups that was known as The Bridge.
Since 2021, Dalfior Development has gone through the process of purchasing the historic property and is planning to redevelop the factory to 21 residential units with some commercial space.
In August 2021 city’s Planning Board recommended a zoning change that paved the way for the redevelopment.
The board voted 2-1 to recommend that the adaptive reuse overlay district be extended to include the building.
In February, the Historical Commission approved a building demolition waiver Thursday for the redevelopment of the property.
The property sale includes two parcels of land.
The plan to sell the factory building was the source of local controversy last spring.
Community members and those who took part in the programs at the abandoned factory tried to raise money to purchase the property so it could continue its function as a site for community arts and trade groups.
