Senior Procurement Officer job with Page Personnel

The Senior Procurement Officer is a specialist position, with the post holder being responsible for procurement and supply chain activities.

Client Details

The client is a public sector & not for profit business based in Crewe who are recruiting an exciting opportunity for a senior procurement officer on a 6 month FTC basis.

Description

The Key responsibilities will include

  • Develop robust procurement relationships, underlining our commitment to quality and continuous improvement. They will develop and maintain a procurement work plan and also manage and resource procurement projects in their own right and work as a member of project team on larger scale strategic initiatives as required.
  • Responsible for the operational management of a divisional procurement function, ensuring that a cost effective purchasing work programme is developed and maintained to help achieve the Trust’s financial savings targets.
  • Responsible for planning and providing strategic direction to major procurement projects in conjunction with the Deputy / Head of Procurement. They will use strategic procurement techniques and experience and need a legal and working knowledge of developing contracts.
  • Build meaningful business relationships with colleagues at a senior level, working with all parties to find solutions to complex business issues. They will be an accomplished influencer and negotiator, willing to step beyond the traditional procurement role to maximise business opportunities

Profile

The Successful applicant will have/be

Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent qualification / extensive public sector knowledge & experience.

Experience of working within the NHS with first class category knowledge.

Sound working knowledge of purchasing and contractual legislation, including all relevant EU Procurement rules.

Able to demonstrate the drive and vision to deliver demanding savings targets.

Ability to build meaningful business relationships with colleagues at a senior.

Demonstrable record of high achievement against set targets.

Strong financial management skills

Job Offer

A Salary of £30,000- £35,000
