Seaside Heights Man Gets 8-Year Sentence For Heroin Distribution

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Seaside Heights man has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for heroin distribution, the Ocean County prosecutor’s office said Friday.

Rayvon Thomas, 34, of Seaside Heights, was sentenced Friday by Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinski. The sentence also includes 3-1/2 years of parole ineligibility.

Thomas pled guilty on Oct. 21 to possession of more than a half-ounce of heroin with intent to distrbute, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

Thomas was arrested March 21, 2019 when authorities executed no-knock search warrants at locations in Seaside Heights and Toms River and seized unspecified amounts of raw unpackaged heroin and of heroin packaged for resale, as well as crack cocaine and marijuana. Drug paraphernalia associated with the manufacture, production and distribution of heroin was also seized.

Billhimer praised Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Burke, as well as the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Ocean County Regional SWAT Team, Seaside Heights Police Department, Toms River Township Police Department Emergency Services Unit and Special Enforcement Team, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit for their combined assistance in bringing Thomas to justice and securing his significant state prison sentence.
