San Bernardino County resumes distribution of rapid COVID-19 test kits – San Bernardino Sun

San Bernardino County is again distributing free at-home COVID-19 test kits to those who live, work or attend school here.

Individuals with proof of residency or employment can pick up a kit at any county-run testing site.

The county, which ran out of test kits a week ago due to soaring demand amid the latest coronavirus surge, has provided close to 300,000 kits to residents and community organizations since December.

In a news release Friday, Jan. 21, Board of Supervisors Chairman Curt Hagman commended county officials for their hard work securing “enough additional tests to resume this valuable service for the people of San Bernardino County.”

Between testing sites run by the county and sites supported by the state, there are 20 places in San Bernardino County to get tested at no cost. Three new testing buses recently were deployed in Barstow, Colton and downtown San Bernardino.
