Britt Katerzynski holds the new menus for The Pizza Factory. She took over as owner of the restaurant in October 2021 after the passing of her father, Bob Katerzynski.
As a child, Britt Katerzynski and her two sisters grew up helping out at their family’s restaurant, The Pizza Factory.
The Pizza Factory offers a variety of unique pizza combinations, including this chicken, bacon, ranch pie.
They have helped out in the kitchen, waitressing, and everything else each year since as long as they can remember.
Since late October 2021, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, The Pizza Factory in Princeton has been reopened under the new ownership of Britt Katerzynski, whose late father, Bob Katerzynski, was the previous owner.
The Pizza Factory was first taken over by the Katerzynski family in 1997 and has been owned by Katerzynski’s family ever since.
Once the three sisters grew older, Britt Katerzynski was the only one to stay in Princeton, so she and her father’s good friend, John Lohry, who is the manager at The Pizza Factory, began running the place together.
“My sisters and I still make decisions together, and they come and visit and help out as much as they can,” Britt Katerzynski said. “I am very grateful for John’s help though.”
COVID-19 did not stop The Pizza Factory from getting business.
“It helped being in a small community,” Katerzynski said. “We had lots of deliveries and curbside orders and we weren’t negatively affected.”
With community support and the delivery services and curbside pickups set in place, The Pizza Factory was quite successful during the difficult times of the pandemic.

Although people were not able to dine in, Katerzynski found a way to continue to get the pizza out to her customers.
This summer, The Pizza Factory will be open to the public once again and has had some minor changes since the new ownership took effect.
A new wall is in place behind the bar, and the booths also were replaced with tables.

On the food side, additional recipes have been added including cheesy broccoli bacon bites, the new jalapeno popper pizza and some new dessert items as well.
Along with the new menu items, the traditional promotion of the pizza of the month, which was introduced by Britt’s father, Bob, will remain consistent.
Each month, a specialty pizza will be introduced to the menu for people to order, along with a form of discount on that specific pizza.
“The pizza of the month promotion will stay the same,” Britt Katerzynski said. “In July, we are having our annual firecracker pizza, which is always really popular because of the Fourth of July theme. It’s super fun and spicy.”
The Pizza Factory prides itself on being a small-town restaurant that makes their pizzas from scratch and always fresh.
The goal of The Pizza Factory is to make everyone who enters feel like part of the family.
Even without her father here, Britt Katerzynski’s goals for The Pizza Factory remain the same.
The Pizza Factory remains a family oriented business in Princeton as two young boys sit at the counter.
The small community and the close family friends are what Britt Katerzynski is grateful for.
“We’ve had a lot of employees come back, and my manager, John Lohry, is amazing,” Katerzynski said. “He was a big help when my dad was here, too.”
