Rs 2,741 cr paid to farmers so far for wheat procurement in Haryana


Chandigarh, April 18 (UNI) During the Rabi procurement season started from April 1, 2022, 32.91 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by various procurement agencies till April 17 in the mandis of Haryana at the minimum support price for which Rs 2741.34 crore has been paid to the farmers.

Giving this information on Monday, a spokesperson of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department said that out of 32.91 lakh metric tonnes of wheat procured, 18.50 lakh metric tonnes have been lifted from the mandis.

He said that farmers who had wrongly entered their bank account number or IFSC code while registering on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal for payment, were being informed by sending an SMS on their mobile to correct the Bank Account Number/IFSC details. He said that sufficient quantities of gunny bags are available in the mandis.
