Report Finds Supply Chain Sustainability Focus Areas Continue to Shift

The latest State of Supply Chain Sustainability report published by the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics in cooperation with the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals has been released. The 2022 report is based on a global survey of more than 3,300 participants and this year saw a huge increase in awareness and concern about climate change.

Considering that 80% of construction industry emissions come from the supply chain, the State of Supply Chain Sustainability Report is relevant to construction leaders facing the growing demand for sustainable construction methods.

Some of the report findings include:

  • 80% found COVID-19 had no impact or increased sustainability commitments
  • 8% felt pressure from investors grow from last year
  • 4.1 (out of 5) declared a commitment to employee welfare & safety
  • 59% are investing in supply chain sustainability

“This is an essential read for anyone in supply chain today,” said Mark Baxa, President, and CEO of CSCMP. “Supply chains worldwide are uniquely positioned to be an engine to impact our society positively. The choice of who we choose to do business with, where we do business, and what and how we deliver is essentially in the supply chain’s control.”
