RBI rejects claims of replacing Gandhi’s face with Tagore, Kalam in banknotes

There are reports in certain sections of the media that the Reserve Bank of India is considering changes to the existing currency and banknotes by replacing the face of Mahatma Gandhi with that of others. It may be noted that there is no such proposal in the Reserve Bank, RBI said in a statement.

For army, DAC accorded fresh AoNs for procurement of Rough Terrain Fork Lift Trucks , Bridge Laying Tanks etc via indigenous sources. For Navy, DAC accorded AN for procurement of Next Generation Corvettes at an estimated cost of Rs 36,000 crore.

Gold in the national capital on Monday increased by Rs 43 to Rs 50,908 per 10 grams amid firm global trends, according to HDFC Securities. RBI’s MPC starts 3-day deliberations amid speculation of rate hike

The RBI’s rate-setting panel Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) on Monday began its three-day deliberation amid expectations of another round of hike in benchmark interest rates to contain inflation that continues to remain above the central bank’s upper tolerance level. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das will announce the decision of the MPC after deliberations on Wednesday. Das has already indicated that there may another hike in the repo rate, though he refrained from quantifying it.
