RAFP, Vilas County to distribute food boxes Friday

STAR JOURNAL

The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry (RAFP) will have another food giveaway Friday, Oct. 16, beginning at 9 a.m. At this time, workers do not know what type of foods are in the boxes.

The food is provided through FCAP and Feeding America. Anyone, regardless of income, can come to the food pantry and receive the food. Over the past four months, RAFP distributed 261,197 pounds of food through the Farmers to Family food distribution, in addition to the regular food distribution to families in need.

As in the past, the line begins at the pantry’s driveway on Carr Street to Coon Street, etc. Do not block driveways or entrance to the cemetery, wear a mask, and have your vehicle’s trunk open for no-contact pickup.

Residents in Vilas County will also have the opportunity to receive a box of food through Feeding America and FCAP Friday. Volunteers will be handing out the boxes noon-5 p.m. at the St. Germain Community Center.

Anyone interested should enter the center’s parking lot off Hwy 155 from the east. Distribution will be in front of the pavilion. Drivers should remain in their vehicles with the trunk open for a no-contact pickup. Exit the parking lot onto Hwy 70.

There are no income limits or restrictions.

For questions regarding this Vilas County distribution, contact Sherri Congleton, 715-479-3690.
