Quinton man arrested for distribution

By JENNIFER COHRON

A Quinton man was arrested on distribution charges Sunday by the members of Walker County’s Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force.

Billy Teet Johnson, 66, was arrested on two counts of distribution (methamphetamine and alprazolam) and faces additional charges of possession with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree possession of marijuana once felony warrants are obtained.

Investigators found 15 grams of methamphetamine, alprazolam, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and two firearms when the Walker County Sheriff’s Office and Dora Police Department executed a search warrant at 116 Church St. in Yerkwood.

Dora Police Chief Jared Hall, a member of the Drug Task Force and also a part-time deputy sheriff, led the investigations that resulted in the Yerkwood arrest.
