Queue at Box Hill factory for toilet paper amid coronavirus panic

A huge number of people are queuing down the street at a toilet paper factory in Melbourne in the hopes of getting their hands on the coveted essential.

Toilet paper is fast being snapped up during coronavirus panic buying, with supermarket outages and even a brawl at one Woolworths.

Footage taken by staff at the Sorbent outlet on Thursday shows dozens of people outside the premises in Box Hill, in the city’s east.

They started lining up from 8am at the front door, snaking back through the car park and around onto the street.

This comes as a spike in shoppers clearing shelves of essentials including toilet paper and basic medicine.

Another three Victorians were confirmed as having the illness on Wednesday morning after returning from the United States.

On Thursday, LaTrobe University in Bundoora confirmed a student also tested positive to the virus.
