Supply Chain Risk

Queensland border opens at noon except to Victorians; Eight Melbourne towers leave lockdown, one remains; NSW residents who went to Victoria must isolate

No Victorians allowed: Queensland’s message is clear.

Travellers from everywhere are welcome in the Sunshine State from midday today, but from the same time, authorities will be turning Australians back at the border.

Drivers will simply be turned around, and those arriving by plane will be put on the next flight home. The only Victorians allowed to enter will be those who have been elsewhere for two weeks.

“We can’t afford to import that risk from other states,” Deputy Premier Stephen Miles said yesterday.

Queenslanders coming home from Victoria will be put into two weeks quarantine at their own expense – and coming from other states, must agree to be tested if they show COVID-19 symptoms within the fortnight, or face a $4000 fine.
