Qube grows Melbourne presence – Trailer Magazine

Transport and logistics company, Qube, is expanding warehousing capacity at its Altona North site with the construction of a 9,000-square-metre warehouse.

The project is due for completion in May 2022.

“Since acquiring the Altona site in 2014, Qube has invested significant capital in the 22-hectare facility to expand warehousing, hardstands and invest further in specialised bulk handling and bagging equipment for the polymer industry,” said Qube.

“In August 2018, Qube completed the development of a 30,000-square-metre warehouse that is occupied by Fonterra. The new fully racked warehouse will add an additional 14,000 pallet storage capacity to the facility bringing the total pallet storage capacity in warehouses at the site to approximately 70,000 pallets.

“Demand for premium food-grade warehouses is currently very strong in the Melbourne market and therefore the facility will be a welcome addition to Qube’s rapidly expanding portfolio of ‘A Grade warehouses’.”

In other news, the latest sideloaders to join Qube’s fleet represent an ongoing investment by the transport and logistics firm to enhance payload capacity and improve safety.
