Q and A American Eagle Supply Chain | National News

Shekar Natarajan, chief supply chain officer at retailer American Eagle Outfitters, demonstrates how a consumer would use ‘Tag Along,’ a modular, collapsible shipping box system in the office of Berns Communications Group on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, in New York. Since Natarajan joined American Eagle nearly four years ago, the teen retailer has purchased two supply chain businesses and he has begun building a logistics platform that other retailers including rivals can share. So far, more than 80 retailers have signed on. This modular, collapsible shipping box system that the company is developing, could be used to ship items from multiple brands to a customer’s home. The goal is to reduce shipping time and costs for retailers and better compete with the likes of Amazon and Walmart.
