Projected Scholarship Distribution: Entering the Offseason

The offseason is among us. Florida State has transitioned its focus onto the acquisition of talent and roster management as the 2021 season has wrapped up.

As Noles247 brings you the latest on what’s happening on the recruiting trail, we also want to take time to address some of the periphery topics or questions that will impact recruiting efforts. For example, who is coming back? Who is leaving?(We went over some of those projections in yesterday’s Scoop piece).

And, how much room does FSU have for its 2022 class? That’s the question we aim to address today.

The Seminoles have already worked diligently to flip the roster and make it consist of a majority of players Mike Norvell recruited in just two offseasons. That will continue this offseason as FSU is expected to push for a full class of 25 signees and potentially another seven (so, 32) if seven players currently on the roster transfer after the end of the semester (Dec. 10 for FSU) per the NCAA’s one-year waiver of scholarship limits.

The scholarship limit of 85 will apply to all FBS teams this upcoming season after being waived in 2021.

Today, we take a look at the players who are currently projected to be on scholarship in 2022 – these are rough estimates as attrition is expected, and their classifications are projected for 2022 – and what that means for FSU’s current recruiting efforts…
