Probe launched into ‘corruption’ in wheat seed procurement – Newspaper

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Dera Ismail Khan anti-corruption department has started an inquiry into the alleged embezzlement of millions of rupees in the procurement of wheat seed by the agriculture department.

An official said the department had also seized record from the agriculture department on Friday. He said the inquiry was started on the instructions of assistant director Abdul Haye Khan Babar.

He said Minhaj Sikandar Baloch, the circle officer, anti-corruption department, and the judicial magistrate raided the office of assistant development foundation, agriculture department, and seized the relevant record.

The official said the raid was made on the complaint of a grower, namely Faheem Iqbal, adding wheat seed stores had also been sealed.

PAPER LEAK: The controller of examinations, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dera, on Friday ordered collection of question papers from banks in the city on the complaints that papers were being leaked during the ongoing FA/FSc annual examinations.

The operation was carried out ahead of the Civics paper on Friday morning.

In an audio message, the controller of examinations instructed the superintendents of all examination centres to now collect the question papers from the secrecy department of the board.

There have been complaints that the question papers were leaked and uploaded on social media before start of the examination at 9am.

The Civics question paper for first year was also uploaded on social media two hours before the start at 9am on Friday.
