LAHORE – Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid reviewed probe into local purchase of medicines and disposables in a meeting held at the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department here on Monday. On the orders of the health minister, a special committee was constituted to probe the local purchase of medicines and disposables at three teaching hospitals of Lahore. SH&ME Secretary Nabeel Awan briefed the health minister on the progress so far. The committee is investigating local purchase and disposables at Services, Mayo and General Hospitals, Lahore. The SH&ME secretary said: “By Thursday, the findings will be finalised. The report on local purchase on these hospitals shall be shared very soon.” He said strict disciplinary action will be taken against the culprits and there will be zero tolerance if any corruption is found.
