Private Rented Procurement Manager job with Ethical Lettings

We are looking to recruit a dedicated London Private Rented Procurement Manager to take forward an exciting new project funded by Impact on Urban Health expanding our current service into the London Boroughs of Lambeth & Southwark. Your role will be private landlord and letting agent focused, recruiting good quality properties into our London guaranteed rent scheme. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a strategy for the procurement of new rental properties
  • Develop marketing material to support the procurement of new rental properties
  • Develop social media tools to support the procurement of new rental properties
  • Create and nurture relationships with new and existing private landlords
  • Create and nurture relationships with new and existing letting agents
  • Create and nurture relationships with new and existing property developers
  • Create and nurture relationships with Local Authority partners
  • Lead on negotiations for new properties with landlords, letting agents and property developers
  • Make a visit to all new properties and make an assessment on suitable rent, property condition and any works required
  • Co-ordinate the collection of gas safety certificates, electrical certificates and EPCs for all new properties
  • Manage referrals to properties from Local Authority partners
  • Provide settling in and tenancy support to all new London tenancies, including monitoring property repairs, condition and encouraging benefits take up
  • Regularly report to the Directors progress on property procurement

Essential skills/attributes for the role:

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office software and willingness to learn new software packages
  • Good working knowledge of Mac software
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent approach to customer service/client care
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Hard working
  • Self motivated and organised
  • Full driving licence and use of own car

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the Private Rented Sector
  • Knowledge of local rental markets, Universal Credit and the benefits system
  • Understanding of those on low incomes and their support needs
  • Ability to nurture and develop new partnerships with Landlords, Agents and partner organisations
  • Experience of dealing with difficult people
