PPE Transfer and Distribution Site now open for donation drop off | BRProud.com | WVLA

Health care workers say that the rapid spread of COVID-19 is creating major medical supply shortages across the state and now there’s a way for businesses in the community to donate.

Area hospitals have partnered with the Baton Rouge Health District to serve as a central contact and distribution point to identify supply items of critical need, make it as easy as possible for corporate and community members to make those items available, and bringing those to all of the area hospitals based on real-time need.

This initiative is currently primarily intended for business to business donations. Individuals that want to donate can still do so by dropping off items to the Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (MOHSEP), 3773 Harding Blvd.

Items that are being accepted include:

  • Germicidal Wipes
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Surgical Masks
  • Procedure Masks
  • N95 Masks
  • Gowns / protective drapes
  • Goggles
  • Latex and Non-Latex Gloves – all sizes

Businesses interested in donating can drop off items at 9455 Plank Road from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday-Friday.
