Port of Wilhelmshaven & Adani Ports showcase capabilities at Mumbai Roadshow

Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd – India’s largest port developer & operator and Wilhelmshaven Freight Village Container Terminal – only deep water container terminal in Germany, is jointly owned and operated by Eurogate and APMT organized a roadshow in Mumbai on February 26, 2020.

APSEZ and Wilhelmshaven Freight Village Container Terminal had signed a marketing agreement on June 25, 2019 to collaborate in areas that will promote trade and container shipping business between Adani Ports and Wilhelmshaven Port.

The Roadshow marked a successful journey of
cooperation between APSEZ and Wilhelmshaven Freight Village Container Terminal.
This event saw a turnout of more than 100 senior stakeholders from the shipping
industry who were  presented a great
networking opportunity. The event also showcased  a niche endeavour for stakeholders to have a
glimpse at the infrastructure, capabilities and performance of APSEZ and
Wilhelmshaven Freight Village Container Terminal.

Freight Village at Wilhelmshaven and APSEZ at Mundra is
the largest port based SEZ in India supplements the container terminal with
industrial zones & trimodal transport connections. The roadshow presented
shipping fraternity a unique opportunity to touch and feel the services
available at industrial zones Wilhelmshaven Port and Adani Ports along with
liner services at container terminals that will add value to the supply chain
of various products.

Germany is in the top 10 trade
partners of India for both exports and imports. Textiles, metal & metal
products, leather & leather goods, food & beverages, machinery,
pharmaceuticals, auto components, chemicals and rubber products are major
Indian exports to Germany. While Indian imports from Germany
includes paper & printing material, machineries, electro technology,
chemicals, measurement & control equipment, plastics, medical technology &
pharma.

There are a number of liner services
connecting India to Germany directly as well as through transhipment. Port of
Wilhelmshaven have the capability to handle these services and to offer tailor
made services to commodities trading between India and Germany.

For 7 years
Port of Wilhelmshaven is connected to India via Mundra and Nhava Sheva through
ME1 service of Maersk, Safmarine and Hamburg Sud.

Port of Wilhelmshaven is the 3rd largest and only deep water sea port in Germany with largest gantry cranes in
the world. The Freight village Wilhelmshaven has a range of processing sites
for logistics building in every conceivable dimension. Bigger, higher, farther
– at Freight village , everything goes : multi user building, high bay
warehouse, picking and packing or distribution centre or functional buildings
to cope with even the most demanding logistics environment.
