PM, First Lady donates 140 tons of rice for distribution among the needy

Prime Minister Hun Sen and First Lady Bun Rany Hun Sen donated 140 tons of rice to the needy in each of Phnom Penh’s districts through Phnom Penh Governor Khuong Sreng.

On the morning of March 20, the 14 district administrations received the rice donations at Phnom Penh Capital Hall to continue to provide to the communes and people in need during the pandemic.

Phnom Penh Capital Administration Spokesman Met Meas Pheakdey confirmed on the morning of March 20, that the rice delivered to the 14 districts of Phnom Penh are donations from the Prime Minister and the First Lady. Each of the district received 10 tons of rice.

The authorities assured the people that the Prime Minister continues to pay attention to the need of the people.

The Prime Minister and the government have distributed donations a number of times throughout the pandemic. The Premier most recently donated 40 tons of rice to 1,000 families in Oddar Meanchey.

Aside from the government, the Cambodian Red Cross have also distributed donations to the residents of various provinces.
