PeduliLindung’s New Feature: Monitoring Cooking Oil Distribution

Summary

The government will regulate the use of the PeduliLindungi app in distributing People’s Bulk Cooking Oil (MGCR) to monitor the distribution and ensure the affordability of bulk cooking oil prices. Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Pandjaitan said the transition would begin at the end of June 2022.

He revealed that the policy would be introduced to the public on June 27 and last for two weeks. Afterward, the people must use the PeduliLindung application or show an ID card number (NIK) to get the MGCR. “Changes are needed to improve the distribution system and governance so that sales of bulk cooking oil can be more accountable and monitored closely, from producers to consumers,” Luhut said.
