OSHA Inspection Push Loops in Amazon Warehouses, Other Grocers

Warehouse and grocery store operations in the Mid-Atlantic region, including some Amazon.com Inc. workplaces, will be the focus of an OSHA inspection initiative announced Thursday.

The program allows the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration to schedule inspections of warehouses plus food stores and some beverage manufacturing plants without having to wait for a worker to complain or receive a referral from another agency.

The warehouse categories include general warehousing, a classification that could include some Amazon facilities; food warehouses; and refrigerated storage, according to the directive.
